These birds don’t need a pear tree to be the best surprise of the holidays.

The Angry Birds Movie is sending season’s greetings in the form of the Hatchlings, a precocious group of baby birds voiced by an even more precocious group of kids. In this exclusive video, the wide-eyed birds do their best to serenade us all with “Deck the Halls.”

“The young children were brought in and we asked them to sing ‘Deck The Halls,'” producer John Cohen (Despicable Me) tells PEOPLE. “The good news for us was none of them knew the words.”

Check out the video to witness the adorable results. The Angry Birds Movie — featuring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Peter Dinklage, Keegan Michael-Key, Kate McKinnon, and more — touches down in May 2016.
