Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Zoe Saldana's Gamora makeup shown in behind-the-scenes pic
James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is getting ready to start filming, and Zoe Saldana is already back in the makeup chair. The actress tweeted behind-the-scenes photos of herself getting into Gamora mode.
“Ready for another one?” she wrote on Twitter aside a photo collage of her makeup evolution. For the first film, Saldana told David Letterman that the process was “old school” and took about four or five hours in a makeup chair to execute.
Special effects makeup designer David White, who worked on Guardians of the Galaxy, previously told Allure that a “few things” were used to get that green hue. “Once the prosthetics were on, the skin around them was topped with a M.A.C. yellow primer and a Makeup Inkz primer. Once dry, a green M.A.C. base was applied. Three more layers of green were then airbrushed on, including makeup from Skin Illustrator and an Aqua mix highlight.”

Saldana will return for the Marvel sequel with Chris Pratt (as Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (as Drax), Bradley Cooper (as Rocket), and Vin Diesel (as Groot). Vol. 2 is scheduled for release on May 5, 2017.
