Ron Howard is attached to direct a film adaptation of the thriller The Girl Before for Universal Pictures, EW has confirmed.

The studio acquired the rights to the J.P. Delaney novel, to be published by Ballantine Bantam Dell Random House in the fall of 2016. Delaney is believed to be a pseudonym for author Tony Strong, according to Deadline, which was first to report the news.

The Girl Before follows a traumatized woman who falls in love with a minimalist house and the man who designed it — but then discovers that another woman died at the home three years earlier.

Michael De Luca is producing the film with Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Howard and Erica Huggins. Imagine’s Tyler Mitchell will be executive producer, and Elishia Holmes will exec produce for Michael De Luca Productions.

Howard will be back in theaters next month with In the Heart of the Sea, starring Chris Hemsworth, Ben Whishaw, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Benjamin Walker, and Tom Holland.
