Luther is back in a new teaser from star Idris Elba. The Golden Globe-winning actor tweeted a 10-second snippet from the forthcoming one-night special, which will see him reprise his role from the BBC drama. Unsurprisingly, the teaser oozes unease and eeriness. “You scared of me?” Luther says in a voice-over. “You should be.”

Written by series creator Neil Cross and helmed by frequent director Sam Miller, the two-part special sees detective John Luther drawn away from normalcy to solve a case involving a cannibalistic serial killer. The special will also star Rose Leslie, Laura Haddock, Darren Boyd, John Heffernan, Patrick Malahide, Michael Smiley, and Dermot Crowley.

“I think Luther goes back just because he can’t stay away from it for too long,” Elba said when the special landed its premiere date. “Ultimately, because he’s a protector, [he] just wants to be able to fix what he can see other people won’t be able to.”

Watch the teaser below. The Luther special airs Dec. 17 at 9 p.m. ET on BBC America.
