Robin Wright, Chris Pine, David Thewlis, and Danny Huston join Gal Gadot in the superhero film
Filming has officially begun on the Wonder Woman movie, and to mark the occasion Warner Bros. released a first image and more details on who’s joining Gal Gadot in the cast.
“Almost 75 years in the making…#WonderWoman is underway,” Gadot wrote on Twitter, sharing the photo of the heroine, wearing a dark cloak that still leaves part of her famous costume visible as London’s Big Ben stands in the background.
Joining Gadot in the cast will be Chris Pine (as Captain Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans), and David Thewlis of the Harry Potter film franchise, as well as Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead), Warner Bros. announced. Other than Pine (and Gadot, of course), the characters each actor will play were not disclosed.
Filming on Wonder Woman will take place on location in the U.K., France, and Italy, the announcement said. The character will first appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when that film hits theaters this coming spring, before her solo film arrives on June 23, 2017.
