On the homefront, chalk up a point to One Direction over Justin Bieber. The four-piece pop group’s latest album Made In The A.M. hit No. 1 in the U.K. on Friday, notching 93,000 sales in one week, according to Billboard. The quartet’s fifth album is also the year’s fastest-selling album, but don’t be surprised if Adele crushes that with 25, out today.

MITAM and Bieber’s new album, Purpose, were both released last Friday. Bieber barely trailed One Direction, raking in 90,000 sales, in the U.K. Per Billboard, if not for Made in the A.M.‘s sales, Purpose would have been the fastest-selling album of the year across the pond. As for the sales battle in the U.S., Billboard will release the Billboard 200 chart next week.
