On your mark, get set, SHOP! Black Friday is just around the corner, but the extended family over on Jane the Virgin will celebrate a bit early in a holiday-themed episode – and the drama that ensues won’t just be over slashed prices.
“Well, we are a telenovela, so Black Friday means a couple different things,” executive producer and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman tells EW. “On the surface, it’s Christmas shopping, but certain relationships come to explosive turning points, and of course Petra and Magda must deal with the aftermath of Ivan’s death.”
In the above exclusive photo from Monday’s episode, the Villanueva women look ready to tackle Target, with Rafael along for reinforcement. Does this mean that Rafael is fully back in the fold — and in Jane’s heart?

“Things are going well between Rafael and Jane at the moment and they are planning a date,” Urman shares. “As for how that date goes, you’ll have to wait and see!”
And though it seems that as if the Villanuevas and mother-daughter duo Petra and Magda have their hands full in the upcoming episode, fans can expect to see exciting new developments when Michael reappears with some surpising news from south of the border.
“We will definitely learn a little bit more about what happened in Mexico,” teases Urman. “We won’t learn everything, but we will start to fill in gaps. I think it’s fair to say people will be surprised by the events that took place.”
