If there’s one thing I enjoy more than playing poker, it’s…

Well, actually, there’s not much at all that I enjoy more than playing poker. But I do also get a kick(er) from watching films about poker, be it The Cincinnati Kid, Rounders, or the recent Mississippi Grind.

The latest movie to hinge around The World’s Greatest Card game is Cold Deck, which is available to watch on VOD beginning Dec. 1 and opens theatrically at L.A.’s Laemmle’s NoHo 7 on Dec. 4. Directed by Zack Bernbaum, the film stars Stéfano Gallo (who also cowrote the script) as a desperate-for-cash poker player who attempts to rob a secret high-roller game.

Cold Deck costars Paul Sorvino and Robert Knepper from the Hunger Games franchise. You can see the film’s trailer, below, and an exclusive clip featuring Gallo and Sorvino, above.
