CBS has ordered five more episodes of Code Black, EW has learned.

Code Black is a medical drama set in the nation’s busiest and most notorious ER, where the extraordinary staff struggle in the face of a broken system to protect their ideals and the patients who need them the most.

The series, which stars Marcia Gay Harden and Bonnie Somerville, debuted in October to 8.5 million viewers and a 1.5 in the demo, with its latest outing drawing 6.59 million viewers and a 1.2 in the demo. With live + 7 day ratings, the show adds an additional 3 million viewers and increases 67 percent in the adults 18-49 demo, according to CBS.

Code Black joins CBS’ other freshman series to receive additional episodes, including Limitless and Life and Pieces.

Code Black airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
