Ben Carson may be soft-spoken now, but he says he went “after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers” when he was younger. That’s all SNL needed to create “Young Carson,” which acts like a prequel/origin story to the myth, the legend of Ben Carson.

The sketch sees Carson with anger issues that rival the Hulk, only minus the strength, minus the speed, and minus the visible aggression. Jay Pharoah, portraying the presidential candidate, whips out a knife to be knocked out of his hands when it collides with his target’s belt buckle.

Thankfully, his life turned around entirely when he met Black Jesus (played by Kenan Thompson). Watch the clip below.

The original late-night comedy sketch show from the one and only Lorne Michaels.
