Paris attacks: Bridge of Spies, Jane Got a Gun cancel promotional events
A spokesperson for Fox confirmed to People and Entertainment Weekly that the scheduled press conference, interviews, and Sunday’s Paris premiere for the Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg film have been dropped. Additionally, French distributor Mars Distribution has canceled all interviews for Natalie Portman’s Jane Got a Gun, as well as the film’s premiere Monday.
Bridge of Spies hit U.S. theaters back in October and is scheduled to premiere in France on Dec. 2. Jane Got a Gun, meanwhile, will screen in French theaters starting Nov. 25.
These cancellations are the latest in an outpouring of support for the country, after a string of coordinated attacks in Paris left at least 127 people dead. French President François Hollande, who had been evacuated from the Stade de France sports stadium after an explosion, said France would be “ruthless” in its response.
President Obama called the tragedy “an attack on all of humanity,” while celebrities and late-night hosts also extended their thoughts and prayers to France.
