  • Scott Eastwood has been cast in Ben Affleck‘s Prohibition-era drama Live by Night. Affleck adapted the script from Dennis Lehane‘s novel and is also directing and starring in the story of a Boston police captain’s son who rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld. Eastwood (Suicide Squad) will play the brother of Affleck’s character. The film is due in 2017 from Warner Bros. [The Wrap]
  • Star Trek Into Darkness star Alice Eve will star in and produce Bees Make Honey, an independent period drama written and directed by her brother Jack Eve. Production starts this month on the murder mystery set during a posh Halloween party in 1934. [Deadline]
  • Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black), singer and actor Rick Springfield, and Sosie Bacon (daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick) will star in Traces, an indie drama currently shooting in Los Angeles. Matthew Currie Holmes‘ directorial debut centers on a down-on-his-luck, one-hit wonder (Schreiber) who gets a second chance when he meets an up-and-coming young artist (Bacon). [Deadline]
