As a heavy metal-loving, Kerrang!-reading teenager back in the ’80s, I was only interested in one Thor — and it wasn’t that guy in the comics. It was instead a Canadian heavy metal band who briefly looked like they were going to hit the big time thanks to their raucous riffing and bodybuilding frontman Jon Mikl Thor’s onstage habit of blowing into water bottles until they exploded.

How could they fail?

Now, a new documentary called I Am Thor tracks the band’s ascent, return to oblivion, and Jon Miki’s recent, apparently life-threatening attempt to reclaim his rightful(?) position on the Mount Rushmore of rock.

The film is released in cinemas and on VOD Nov. 20 supported by a Thor tour which begins in Seattle, Nov. 10.

You can check out the rather amazing trailer for I Am Thor below and an exclusive, expletive-featuring clip above.
