  • Omar Epps is joining the Meyers clan for the holidays. The actor is the latest to join the cast of David E. Talbert‘s A Meyers Christmas, about a family who bands together after the mother dies. Epps stars along with Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Nicole Ari Parker, and more. The film bows Nov. 11, 2016. [Deadline]
  • Damson Idris heads to Meagen Leavey, the Kate Mara-led indie biopic. She plays the titular marine who enlists in a K9 unit. She forms a bond with aggressive dog Rex, her partner for a bomb-sniffing squad. Tom Felton, Bradley Whitford, Edie Falco, and Will Patton are also on board for Gabriela Cowperthwaite‘s (Blackfish) feature, based off Pamela Gray‘s screenplay. [Deadline]
  • Ian Hart has been tapped for a new British romantic comedy. Modern Life is Rubbish is the first film for director Daniel Gill. The movie, which also stars Freya Mavor (BBC’s Skins) and Josh Whitehouse (Northern Soul), is based on Gill’s 2009 short film about a broken-up couple that struggles to divide their records.
