Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuts new TV spot
“I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes.”
The voice of Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz Kanata narrates the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot, though this is very much a Rey-centric look at the next chapter. The details on Daisy Ridley’s character have been strategically kept under wraps, and these new words tease great things to come for the Jakku scavenger.
Watch the spot below.
Maz Kanata also featured in the previous trailer, in which she asked Rey, “Who are you?” and gained the response, “I am no one.”
In the spot, which debuted Sunday on Twitter, we also see snippets of the heroine fighting in a Jakku marketplace and firing shots in the woods. While the jury is still out on Rey’s backstory, one thing is crystal clear: a staff is way more badass than the Slave Leia bikini.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
