The tinted skit will air as part of network's annual 'I Love Lucy Christmas Special'

Color us surprised: The classic “Vitameatavegamin” skit from I Love Lucy is about to get the Technicolor treatment on CBS.

The network will feature the first-ever colorized version of the “Lucy Does a TV Commercial” episode from 1952 as part of its annual I Love Lucy Christmas special on Dec. 23. The hour will also feature the first-ever, fully colorized version of “The Christmas Episode,” which first aired on CBS in December of 1956 but was never included in the show’s long history of reruns.

CBS says both episodes were given a “vintage” colorized look as a “nod to the 1950s period in which the shows were filmed.” They will air back-to-back in the special.

Similar I Love Lucy Christmas Specials have aired on CBS over the last two years, each combining a holiday-themed episode with a different classic one.
