Good Charlotte share snippet of new music, hint at return
Bust out those green iPod Minis. Nearly five years to the day after releasing their fifth and most recent album, emo-pop mainstays Good Charlotte shared a snippet of new music Tuesday. The 30-second clip, announced via Alternative Press, features the group’s signature distortion-soaked guitars and melodramatic lyrics: “Like I’m dying tonight / And the whole world is laughing / Like everyone I love has gone away” a character in the video types along with the vocals.
Good Charlotte tweeted with the hashtag #WelcomeBackGC and even linked Twitter’s switch from stars to hearts to their return — but didn’t go so far as to confirm a release date or other details about new music.
Though the band hasn’t released an album since 2010’s Cardiology, its member have continued creating music. Twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden put out an album, Greetings from California, as the Madden Brothers in 2014. The siblings also have contributed production to acts including 5 Seconds of Summer and All Time Low. Good Charlotte also teamed with Waka Flocka Flame earlier this year for a track on the Pixels soundtrack.
