The first footage for Spike Lee’s Amazon Studios film Chi-Raq has debuted, showcasing how one woman leads a sex strike to protest black-on-black gun violence in Chicago. And a sharply dressed Samuel L. Jackson is your guide through the streets of the South Side.

The trailer teases the modern update to Aristophones’ Greek comedy Lysistrata, offering a moment or two to the film’s recognizable ensemble that includes Jackson, Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Angela Bassett, Dave Chappelle, Jennifer Hudson, and many more. Mad Men costar Teyonah Parris plays the lead role of Lysistrata.

The film has sparked some debate over its title, a nickname comparing Chicago to Iraq, but the debut trailer in no way shies away from its title or the violence it references. Chi-Raq will debut in theaters on Dec. 4 and then later on Amazon. Watch the trailer, debuted exclusively by IMDb, below.
