Broad City won’t be back for season 3 until early next year, but you can get a new dose of Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer even sooner.
The pair will host the 25th annual IFP Gotham Independent Film Awards, organizers announced Tuesday. The awards, which honor the year’s best in independent filmmaking, will be handed out Nov. 30 in New York City.
“We’re excited to include Ilana and Abbi in the 25th anniversary Gotham Awards celebrations,” Joana Vicente, executive director of IFP and the Made in NY Media Center by IFP, said in a press release. “As huge fans of Broad City, we can’t wait to ring in 25 years of the Gothams with these funny ladies at the helm, and know their local flavor will be a unique addition to this year’s show.”
Glazer and Jacobson added, “We couldn’t be more excited about hosting the Gotham Awards and are humbled to be invited by IFP.”
Nominations were announced last month, with Marielle Heller’s The Diary of a Teenage Girl earning a leading four nominations including Best Feature. The other contenders in that category are Carol, Heaven Knows What, Spotlight, and Tangerine.
This year, the Gotham Awards will also honor television and episodic series for the first time, with nominations for the Breakthrough Series – Long Form and Short Form categories.
