Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool Halloween costume video
- Movie
UPDATE: So that’s why Ryan Reynolds was hanging out with a bunch of pint-sized X-Men on Halloween. In a new Deadpool promo, Reynolds holds what seems to be a completely unsolicited audition for an X-Men team, asking the children questions like “How many of you have taken a human life?” and “What does this suit look like to you? Like a leprechaun had sex with a cartoonist?” See how it unfolds above.
EARLIER: Ryan Reynolds is still channeling the “merc with the mouth,” even after he finished filming the Fox superhero movie. The actor became Deadpool once again for Halloween, posing next to a group of kids dressed as X-Men.
“The beauty of Halloween—You never know who’s under the mask,” Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively wrote on Instagram with a photo of the priceless moment. “[Ryan Reynolds] killin it in the most elaborate #Deadpool Halloween costume ever.”
Reynolds simultaneously took to Twitter to poke fun at the continuity of the X-Men movies. “Dear Fox,” he wrote, “stop changing the timelines. It’s confusing the audience.” He further joked on Instagram, “Remember, tonight we set our clocks back 34 years.”
The actor is set to star in Deadpool, which hits theaters on February 12, 2016. The story follows Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces operative who is subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and a foulmouthed alter ego.
In October, the actor told MSN that he “ran away” with one of his Deadpool costumes. “I’ll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I’ve waited 10 years to do this movie, so I’m leaving with a f—ing suit.”
