Actor Sean Astin was set to run, as well, but he pulled out a few days earlier due after participating in the Iron Man World Championship Triathlon. “My right foot has grown a minor cluster of blisters in the center of the foot pad, making it completely inadvisable for me to run in the New York City Marathon on November 1,” he wrote on the Run3rd charity’s website on Saturday. “I pray that I’ll be able to participate in that Classic event in a year’s time.”
