It’s been 20 years since Danny Elfman performed the Oingo Boingo song “Dead Man’s Party,” but the composer-musician broke that dry spell on Saturday. Elfman finished a Halloween concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with a rendition of the 1985 hit.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m gonna do something I said I’d never do,” he told the crowd. “Now, if I don’t do it very well, forgive me. It’s been exactly 20 years to the day. Halloween, October 31, 1995 when I played this song last.” Eldman was the lead singer of the rock band until the members retired that year.

Rock Cellar Magazine found video of the performance shot by a fan in the audience. Watch it below.

The night also included a live orchestral performance of the soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Elfman composed the music for the film and voiced the lead character Jack Skellington.
