Jon Stewart: Pigs eat pumpkins at animal sanctuary in New Jersey
Jon Stewart’s pigs celebrated Halloween weekend in style.
Stewart and his wife, Tracey Stewart, announced this week that they had partnered with Farm Sanctuary to open the organization’s first location in New Jersey.
“We’re getting married. Farm Sanctuary and us, we’re getting married,” Tracey said at an event for Farm Sanctuary on Monday.
The Stewarts already have a Facebook page for their sanctuary, The Daily Squeal, which tracks the adventures of pigs Maybelle and Anna Stewart. “Their adoptive mom is animal activist and Do Unto Animals author Tracey Stewart. Dad is none other than Jon Stewart, former host of The Daily Show,” reads the page. “Their new parents make sure they have plenty of fresh straw to nest in, a spacious pasture to run and play, and healthy food to eat — even spoiling them with the occasional treat. Tracey, Jon, and their two children treat Anna and Maybelle like a part of the family — and they are quickly becoming just that.”
And one of those treats was pumpkins. In a video uploaded Friday, the Stewarts are shown feeding the pigs just in time for Halloween. “Happy Halloweekend from the Stewart family!” the video caption reads. Watch below.
