'Girls' sets season 5 premiere date
The girls are back in town. HBO announced Thursday that Girls season 5 would premiere on Feb. 21, 2016 at 10 p.m.
According to HBO, the 10-episode season will feature returning cast members Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Jake Lacy. (Moss-Bachrach and Lacy were guest stars in season 4.)
Early photos of the season gave fans clues for what to expect when we return to Girls‘ version of Brooklyn next year: Marnie walks barefoot through the streets in an evening gown, Ray seems to be making appearances on the news, and Adam is seen with Lucy Liu.
The network renewed the show back in January, but last show creator Dunham suggested that Girls may not go beyond season 6. “Never say never, but that is the way that we’re thinking about it right now and we’re starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women,” she told Elvis Duran. “I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world!”
