In real life, Bradley Cooper has lived up to his leading man status by coming out as an advocate for women, but his Burnt character Adam Jones doesn’t seem to have the same charm when it comes to the opposite sex.

In the latest clip from the film, multiple women express their disgust with Adam Jones. “When I lie awake at night and list my regrets, you’re one of them,” says Simone Forth (Uma Thurman), who’d hoped Adam was dead.

And she isn’t the only one who wished they’d seen the last of the Adam. His old sous chef recalls an instance in which the master chef released rats into his new restaurant and called the health inspector. So between having made enemies in his personal and professional lives, Adam’s second attempt at success in the restaurant business is certainly an uphill battle.

Watch Adam fight his way to the top in the Burnt‘s newest trailer below:

Sienna Miller, Daniel Brühl, and Emma Thompson also star in Burnt, which hits theaters Friday.
