Ash vs Evil Dead hasn’t even premiered yet, but Starz has already renewed it for a second season.

The show, created by Sam Raimi and featuring Bruce Campbell reprising his role as the title character, is a continuation of the Evil Dead franchise, a set of four films including 2013’s Evil Dead, the only film in the series Raimi didn’t direct (though he did produce).

Raimi previously spoke with EW about the decision to go with a television series instead of another film, saying, “It just so happens that the world had changed so much that it seemed like cable TV was the place for the next Evil Dead.”

“… [The audience] can really get to know him and hate him and love him,” he said, referring to Ash, “and they’ll get exasperated by his outrageous and sometimes foolish decisions, his big ego, and his blowhard nature. And the cable will allow us to tell really intense horror stories, and have outrageous gore, and crazy visuals.”

Viewers will get to see just how outrageous it is when the series debuts on Starz Saturday at 9 p.m. ET.
