Earlier this month, Erykah Badu shared an extended cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” named “HOTLINE BLING BUT U CAINT USE MY PHONE MIX,” and hinted that her mixtape, BUT U CAINT USE MY PHONE, would drop soon. She’s now shared details withNoisey about the project, which she says will come out next week.

“I’m writing all the time,” said Badu, who released her most recent album in 2010. “But recently I got the bug back. When it comes, it comes, and I can’t force it, but recently I got it back with ‘Hotline Bling’ and all the other things I’ve been experimenting with.” Badu added that she loves Drake “because he’s ever-evolving” and “keeps forecasting what will happen.”

The neo-soul legend also praised D’Angelo’s Black Messiah, Young Thug, and various members of Odd Future.
