Eddie George will become the latest name to step into the role of Billy Flynn in the Tony-winning hit musical Chicago, when the NFL legend and Heisman Trophy winner makes his Broadway debut beginning Jan. 11, 2016. George’s limited engagement will last seven weeks, through Feb. 28.

George’s previous stage appearances include title roles in both Othello and Julius Caesar at the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Matthew Lopez’s The Whipping Man (Nashville Repratory Theater) and Suzan-Lori Parks’ Topdog/Underdog (Amun Ra Theatre). He has also made a name for himself on the small screen with NBC’s American Dream Builders, and in films such as Best Man Holiday and The Game Plan.

George is the latest celebrity to be added to the Broadway cast, following the announcement of NeNe Leakes (Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta) as Mama Morton later this fall. Chicago’s current cast includes Dancing With the Stars champion Rumer Willis as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
