Beautiful star Chilina Kennedy kicked off the first-ever EW Fest with a stunning redemption of the Carole King co-written classic “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” and in an interview with EW’s Marc Snetiker after the performance, the singer-songwriter recalled what it was like to meet King herself.

“She surprised us and came to the show,” Kennedy said. The iconic performer, whose life story plays out in the Broadway musical, emailed Kennedy to say she was coming to the show. “I got an email in my inbox from Carole, and I was like, ‘I don’t have any friends named Carole. Oh my God, it’s Carole King!'”

King wanted to tell Kennedy when she was coming, but the Beautiful star was not interested in the added pressure. “I will literally have a heart attack and fall over,” she recalled telling King.
