Always an advocate for positive body image, singer/actress Zendaya spoke out when Modeliste magazine Photoshopped the 19-year-old’s cover spread for the glossy.

“Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated,” Zendaya wrote on Instagram Tuesday night. “These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have.”

As someone who stands for “honest and pure self love,” Zendaya posted the original image (below, right), and thanked the magazine for correcting its mistake.

This isn’t the first time Zendaya’s appearance has been the subject of controversy. Giuliana Rancic commented about the teen’s dreadlocks during an episode of E!’s Fashion Police in February, resulting in Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne’s departures from the show, as well as Fashion Police’s hiatus.
