I Saw The Light: Tom Hiddleston performs as Hank Williams at film's Nashville premiere
- Movie
Tom Hiddleston has long since wrapped the upcoming Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light, but after the movie’s Nashville premiere on Saturday, Hiddleston once again took to the stage to perform a few of Williams’ biggest hits.
Hiddleston, who stars in I Saw the Light as the troubled country singer, performed Williams songs like “Hey Good Lookin’,” “Why Don’t You Love Me Like You Used To Do,” and “Move It On Over,” switching back and forth from his own accent to Williams’ southern drawl. “I’ve realized I’m incapable of doing any of this in a British accent,” Hiddleston says in the video. Director Marc Abraham and Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Williams’ wife, Audrey, also make an appearance, joining each other on the dance floor.
Hiddleston performed all of Williams’ music in the film himself, and he studied singing and guitar with Grammy winner Rodney Crowell for months.
I Saw the Light will hit theaters on March 25, 2016. Watch the video of Hiddleston’s performance below.
