Star Wars movie marathon planned for lead-up to The Force Awakens
Even those living in a galaxy far, far away know that a new poster and snippets of teaser footage were unveiled for Star Wars: The Force Awakens over the weekend, just ahead of the film’s trailer premiere on Monday night.
But before the franchise moves forward, fans will also have the opportunity to start back at the very beginning, courtesy of a massive move marathon planned in the lead-up to The Force Awakens‘ big debut.
The Star Wars Marathon Event on Dec. 17 will screen all six Star Wars films in digital 2D, beginning with The Phantom Menace and ending with a 3D screening of The Force Awakens on Dec. 18. Those who hunker down for the marathon will get a lanyard with exclusive art, the announcement said. A list of participating theaters can be found here.
Other theaters are offering their own promotions tied to The Force Awakens, including exclusive prints, collectable tickets, and special 3D glasses with Star Wars art.
Tickets will go on sale Monday for The Force Awakens, while the new trailer will premiere during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Ahead of that, head here for a deep dive into the poster artwork.
