Ed Sheeran honorary doctorate
Ed Sheeran: musician, gentleman, and officially a scholar. The English singer was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University Campus Suffolk in Ipswich, England, according to People.
Sheeran, who grew up in the nearby town Framlingham, accepted in person, rocking traditional graduation garb and throwing up a celebratory Instagram post.
“Suffolk is very much where I call home,” Sheeran told reporters, via People. “Receiving this recognition is a real privilege.” He seemed somewhat bewildered at the recognition, given his tweet after the photo.
