This Halloween, some of us will have to admit we’re too old for the typical scary stories. Seth Meyers and Zooey Deschanel tried to remedy this feeling by telling “Adult Scary Stories” on Thursday night’s episode of Late Night.

These nightmares didn’t involve ghosts, ghouls, or goblins; they included plumbers, bands, and babies.

The Rock the Kasbah star told a spooky story about “a beautiful woman with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes” who heard horrifying sounds that made her do something she never thought she would do: call a plumber. The most frightening part? “The actual cost would be higher than the estimate.”
