Aaron Tveit will graduate from the beach house to the big House.

The erstwhile Graceland lead will star in CBS’s new comic thriller BrainDead, a new Washington, D.C.-set series from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King. He’ll star opposite previously announced lead Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays a young staffer on the Hill who discovers that aliens have invaded Earth and eaten the brains of several congressmen and staffers in the nation’s capital.

Tveit will play Gareth, described as a hard-working Republican operative blessed with equal parts wit and logic. He works as the legislative director to a top senator, and is “ultimately responsible for helping to save the world.” (So, safe to assume he’s one of the few whose brains haven’t yet been consumed by extraterrestrials?)

BrainDead premieres in summer 2016 on CBS.

Broadway star Tveit will also star in Fox’s upcoming live musical production of Grease, playing Danny Zuko. The Les Misérables actor was recently freed up following USA’s cancellation of his crime drama Graceland after three seasons.
