Stephen Colbert is a big supporter of burgeoning young comedians, as he proved on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show, when he read (bad; really bad) kids’ jokes aloud with Sarah Silverman.

These so-called jokes came from a Tumblr dedicated to them titled, appropriately, Bad Kids Jokes. One example: “There were three guys on a plane. One bit into an apple, thought it was too sweet, he threw it out the window. The second guy bit into a rock.” As Silverman said after reciting the joke, “That’s terrible. Not funny.”

Another one involves a guy named Wilson who can’t stop laughing until he inexplicably becomes a ghost. Watch Silverman and Colbert try out — and try to decode — these nonsensical, actually hilarious bits below.
