Carrie Underwood is selective when it comes to featuring artists on her records. “I try not to force anything ever and that’s kind of where you can get into some tricky territory,” the country star told EW in August. “I’ve been lucky enough to get to sing with a lot of cool people but it’s always been for some sort of event or something. It’s never really quite worked out on my album except for Randy Travis.”

Now, Underwood can add Sam Hunt to her list of album collaborators. The “House Party” singer appears on “Heartbeat,” a romantic country ballad off Underwood’s forthcoming album Storyteller, due out Oct. 23.

Hunt underscores Underwood’s powerful vocals with a warm, somber echo. “I love the way you look in a firefly glow,” the two croon on “Heartbeat.”
