Focus Pictures released the first teaser for Race on Tuesday, the new Jesse Owens biopic running into theaters next year.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much, but we catch glimpses at 1936 Berlin, the site of the Summer Olympics. In those games, Owens won four gold medals and was the most successful athlete of the competition.

Stephan James, a relative unknown who broke out as John Lewis in last year’s Selma, top lines the cast as Owens. He’s bolstered by a strong supporting group, including Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, William Hurt, and Carice van Houten in Stephen Hopkins’ (The Life and Death of Peter Sellers) film. Avengers star Anthony Mackie was previously discussed to lead before James was tapped for the part.

Race is slated for a Feb. 19, 2016 release. See the teaser above, and watch out for the full trailer Wednesday.
