Vin Diesel’s Kaulder finds himself chained up in the latest clip from Breck Eisner’s The Last Witch Hunter. But as his captor Belial (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) discovers, you can’t keep this warrior down for too long.

The Last Witch Hunter stars Diesel as an immortal tasked with protecting humanity from the terrifying supernatural elements. Soon, he’s pitted against a familiar foe – the Witch Queen. And while this 800-year-old can kick plenty of butt, Belial warns he has “run out of time.”

“He is the most hardened and deadliest soldier due to his immortality,” Diesel told EW during a recent interview. “We assume the immortality is a gift, but we learn from understanding his world that there is a certain pain that he has been harboring for so long and there’s a certain isolation that the character’s had to live with.”

The Last Witch Hunter arrives in theaters Oct. 23. Check out the clip (above), along with two additional TV spots, below. To read more about the role, including how working on the film helped him cope with the loss of Fast & Furious costar Paul Walker, head here.
