John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have a bun in the oven.

The Grammy-winning musician and the social-media-savvy model announced Monday that they’re expecting their first child.

“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant,” Teigen wrote in an Instagram photo of the proud parents-to-be. “As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching.”

Legend posted the same image to his own account and cut to the chase: “We’re pregnant!”

Just last month, Teigen talked with her FABlife co-host Tyra Banks about the difficulty she and Legend were having getting pregnant.

“John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process,” she said. “Anytime somebody asks me if I’m gonna have kids, I’m just like, ‘One day, you’re gonna ask that to the wrong girl who is really struggling, and it’s going to be really hurtful to them’, and I hate that. Stop asking me!”

Word of Teigen’s pregnancy comes a few weeks after the news that a rom-com series loosely inspired by her and Legend’s relationship is getting a pilot from ABC.
