The Force is strong with players this week, as the beta for one of the fall’s most anticipated games has launched.

The beta for Star Wars Battlefront will be available to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC players on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET, according to the game’s community manager, and will last until Oct. 12.

Players will be given access to three scenarios for the beta period: a “Survival Mission” on Tatooine in which players fight alone or with a friend to defeat waves on enemies, a massive multiplayer assault on Hoth, and the new mode Drop Zone. The Drop Zone scenario will take place on Sullust, where players will engage in eight-on-eight matches in a fight to control escape pods falling down to the planet.

There will also be a “companion experience” featuring a card-based game at the Battlefront website for those who can tear themselves away at the fight. EW staff had a chance to preview the beta and came away impressed from our brief time with the game, but the beta will be a true test of how the game functions (both from technological and simply fun point of views) when all players gain access.

Star Wars Battlefront proper will then release on Nov. 17.
