Keanu Reeves on Speed 2: Actor tells Jimmy Kimmel why he wasn't in the sequel

Ever wonder why Keanu Reeves was absent from that not-so-great Speed sequel?

In addition to filming a faux sequel to his classic 1994 film, Reeves told Jimmy Kimmel why he wasn’t in Speed 2: Cruise Control on Wednesday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“I didn’t get to be in that,” Reeves said before correcting himself. “Well I decided not to be in that.”

The actor said he loved working with Sandra Bullock and director Jan de Bont, but couldn’t get into the script for the sequel.

“It was about a cruise ship and I was like okay, speed cruise ship … not so fast … cruise ship is even slower than a bus.”
