Jackass star Steve-O has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges filed following a SeaWorld protest he staged in August.

He was arrested Aug. 9 after climbing a crane in Hollywood with an inflatable orca and charged with five misdemeanors later that month. Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan told the Associated Press that Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, pleaded no contest Wednesday to trespassing and illegal use of fireworks. The former MTV star was also sentenced to three years of probation and was ordered to reimburse the city for the nearly $14,000 it spent on emergency response.

But Steve-O still considers the stunt worth it. “My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too,” he wrote on Instagram. “I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up!”
