Power Rangers has found one of its colorful crime fighters.

Naomi Scott (The Martian, Terra Nova) has claimed the role of the Pink Ranger in the film, which is being directed by Dean Israelite from a screenplay by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz that reimagines the story of a group of high schoolers who use their superpowers to save the world.

The news was announced on Wednesday on the Power Rangers’ Instagram in a post that reads, “It’s official! #NaomiScott will play the #PinkRanger in the @PowerRangersMovie!  Coming in 2017…”

The crime fighters originally hit the air as a TV show in the 90’s called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and subsequently inspired other small-screen series. In addition to the upcoming Power Rangers, it also inspired two other feature films, 1995’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and 1997’s Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.
