YouTube star Caleb Bratayley has died, his mother Katie announced on Instagram. Along with his sisters, Caleb made frequent appearances on his mother’s daily YouTube blog “Bratayley,” about her family. Caleb also had his own channel, FlimsyArrow, where he posted videos of himself playing the computer game MineCraft. In her Instagram announcement, Katie said that Caleb “passed away of natural causes” and “this has come as a shock to all of us.”

The exact cause of his death is unknown, according to the medical examiner. The Anne Arundel County Police Department told People, “Nothing appeared to be criminal, nothing was suspicious and there was no foul play.”

Shortly before he died, the Bratayleys had filmed a video of Caleb talking to his “future self.” The video has been posted with a message at the end. “Unfortunately Caleb passed away the day after we made this video. He will never get to meet his future self. None of us will and we are very sad because he would have been great. Please kiss your kids and tell them you love them every day. You never know what day will be their last.” Another video, “Caleb, Gone but Never Forgotten,” is a memorial video and compilation of Caleb’s appearances in earlier videos.

“We know you tune in to watch each day and eagerly anticipate new videos, but ask that you bear with us while we deal with this tragedy as a family,” Katie wrote in her Instagram announcement.
