Miley Cyrus announces Flaming Lips tour
Miley Cyrus appeared on The Tonight Show Thursday night and announced that she would soon go on tour with the Flaming Lips to support her latest surprise album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz.
“I’m going to go on tour later this year, me and the Lips,” She told Jimmy Fallon. “They’re badass,” he replied. “Yeah, [frontman] Wayne [Coyne]’s back there drunk, falling on the floor, stealing stuff out of your dressing room,” Cyrus said. She didn’t specify dates or venues, though.
Before Cyrus released Dead Petz, her friendship and recording sessions with Coyne had been well-documented on social media, and it was unclear what kind of project they would put out together.
Cyrus announced the album during the closing number at the MTV VMAs, which she hosted, and brought Coyne out to perform new tracks with her. After the show, the album appeared online for free.
