Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are kind of irreplaceable, but Fox is sure the heck going to try.

A Lethal Weapon reboot is in the works at the network, with former Forever creator Matt Miller on tap to adapt the movie franchise for the small screen, EW has confirmed.

This is the official logline from the Warner Bros. TV put pilot (that’s TV speak for a deal that pretty much guarantees that it’ll go to series unless Fox wants to play a stiff penalty to the studio): “When Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby, he moves to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life.”

The first Lethal Weapon movie, starring Gibson as Riggs and Glover as Murtaugh, came out in 1987 and was followed by three more films.
