Trevor Noah asks Chris Christie to explain his 'fingerprint' plan on The Daily Show
- TV Show
On his third episode as host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah interviewed his first presidential candidate. Chris Christie appeared on the show, facing more scrutiny than he might have expected from the new host.
Noah recalled seeing Christie over the summer and complimented the Governor on his summer attire. “There’s no requirement to lie in your first week on the job,” Christie told Noah.
The host responded with a quick quip: “I guess it’s different to your job.”
Noah wanted to examine Christie’s policies regarding Visas and immigration, and when Christie said that his plan would have people who obtain Visas would put their fingerprints into a database system, Noah had no hesitation in examining the high price of such a program, saying it would cost at least $7 billion.
But Christie responded by bringing up his fellow Republican candidate, Donald Trump. “It’s a lot less expensive than a 2,000-mile wall across the entire southern border,” Christie told Noah.
