Given the rate of new releases, Tinashe’s sophomore record Joyride feels close. After sharing “Party Favors” with Young Thug last month, the singer has shared the album’s first official single, the Chris Brown-featuring “Player.”

“Player” is charged and more celebratory than “Party Favors,” with the steady growl of Boi-1da’s bass. Brown goes sing-rap in lieu of a full croon, trying to prove his worth to the provoking Tinashe.

It steadily grows through Brown’s appearance, exploding in the final hook. Simply, it’s purely pop. Listen above.
