Mariah Carey took her career to the next level on Oct. 3, 1995, when she released her fifth studio album, Daydream. Following her multiplatinum albums Mariah Carey and Emotions, the record became her second diamond-certified work after Music Box with the hit song “Fantasy.” The track made Carey the first female artist to debut at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.

A monumental time in her career, Mimi took more control over the musical direction as well as the album’s composition, focusing on a contemporary R&B and hip-hop sound. Daydream remains one of the best-selling albums of all time, counting more than 20 million copies sold worldwide. In celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary, test your knowledge of the hits from “Daydream,” ahead.
